about brisbanestorms.com
It's back!
I'm currently in the process of setting up Brisbane Storms once more. I originally started the site way back in 1998, and I called it "The Brisbane & SE Queensland Storm Site". Not long after, I gave it the name Brisbane Storms.
For those who don't remember, Brisbane Storms contained a plethora of information, such as daily and weekly thunderday summaries, current and archive storm reports, a photo gallery, info on how storms form in SE Qld and so on.
Due to my work and family commitments (I now have a life!), I won't be able to restart all of that. I will however be keeping updated a Weather Blog (wx blog) which will be on the page titled "home". This will have summaries, photos and weather data, and sometimes forecasts of what I think might happen.
I'm hoping to keep the site relatively clean and simple. To help, "quick links" are on each page, and a link to a glossary which I am building. This glossary I feel will be needed as I often use abbrevations and weather terms most people won't have any idea about!
Regarding the storm reports, I will progressively be sorting through them, and adding to the site. Reports on the 'great' storm days like the 1973 Brisbane Tornado, the EF-4 Bucca tornado in 1992, the great Brisbane storm of January 18, 1985 and The Gap storm of a year ago need to be back on the web.
The photo gallery has been housed here. I'm hoping to do up a favrourites page, but the zen gallery with most of my pics, will continue.
So, enjoy your stay, and I hope you like the new format! Stay tuned for more updates!
